Course content

The practice of dramaturgy is historically linked to theatre. This notion was introduced in the second half of the 20th century in the western contemporary dance scene. Relating dramaturgy to dance expanded the field of dramaturgy. During this week of Dance and Dramaturgy, the students will be introduced to the notion of dramaturgy. Additionally, to the main tutor, guest speaker(s) will share their view and personal dramaturgical practice. The aim of this week is to create an expanded sense of dramaturgy. How can dramaturgy support an embodied practice from a contemporary point of view?
