Learning outcomes (list)

1.1 The student independently broadens and explores repertoire related to his or her discipline.

Course content

Read the vademecum.
The curriculum will be determined in consultation with the principal teacher.

*individual lessons
*classroom lessons (in these lessons all students work together around a theme. These lessons are predominantly technical)
*a week-long course (during project week (in the middle of March), we do a week-long course where chamber music, ensemble playing, how to study, technical issues etc are worked on each day in a group)
*concerts outside the Conservatoire (minimum of 5 per academic year. These take place mainly in various music academies in Flanders. During these concerts, there is scope for solo works, chamber music and ensembles)
*masterclasses (these are given by internationally renowned accordion players from abroad)
*concert attendance
*group work: an annual visit to specialised accordion music publishers, workshops with contents relevant to our instrument, museum visits etc

*Scales (major and harmonic minor scales in all keys)
*J.S. Bach: Prelude and Fugues (Wohltemperierte Klavier I & II)/ Sonatas of Domenico Scarlatti/ Baroque and Classical compositions.
*The expansion of the traditional repertoire depending on the preferences of each student. This may be  the Russian school, the Scandinavian school, or Western European music written for accordion.
*Further attention is paid to articulation and touch (finger and bellows articulation) in its most detailed form.
