Achievement of the learning outcomes of  Piano 3, Harpsichord 3, Organ 3 or Pianoforte 3.

Learning outcomes (list)

1.1 The student independently broadens and explores repertoire related to his or her discipline.
The student can perform representative exam repertoire or works of the same level and demonstrates a personal vision as concerns that repertoire within the context of the master's dissertation.
1.2 The student masters the internationally used stylistic performance practice standards.

Course content

Read the vademecum.
The curriculum will be determined in consultation with the principal teacher.

Further refinement of technique and interpretation through the study of varied repertoire.
Literature study: for example, CPE Bach's Versuch ├╝ber die wahre Art das Klavier zu spielen; Moscheles' Method and studies; Clementi's studies and sonatas; Czerny's methods, treatises and other relevant works.
Learning to sight read with an immediate understanding of the contents of the score and style and with rhetorical insight. One consequence of this is that the student learns to read more quickly and builds up his or her repertoire. 
Aural training through learning to tune: analysis of acoustic information.
Increased awareness of and sensitivity to overtones and beats lead to more balanced playing and the ablitily to really learn to listen to one's instrument. It also increases the sensitivity to the various types of instruments. A minimum level of knowledge of mechanics and reglage is required.
Individual lessons. Students may observe the lessons of their fellow-students. Recognition at a distance of certain problematic areas experienced by fellow-students contributes to the student becoming more conscious of his or her own perspective and his or her own similar and/or different problematic areas. Increase of possible repertoire.
Tuning: taught previously in group lessons
Class concerts
Possible group lessons/work sessions, a type of masterclass in which the students who are listening are actively involved in analysing the problematic areas of the playing and in the coaching of the student performing. Promotes also the learning of new and further repertoire. For the student performing, this constitutes good preparation for a public performance with prepared or almost prepared repertoire.
