Course content

Read the Vademecum.
Organ Building deals extensively with the issues of the instrument. The course unit prepares the professional organist for dealing with the instruments at his or her disposal. This situation is a totally different one as compared to other musicians, who have their own instrument. The course unit covers not only organ building from a technical point of view, but also maintenance, small repairs, restoration dossiers and new builds. The course is made up of a theoretical and a practical component. The theoretical component deals with the principles of the various organ actions. The practical component is taught through workshops on instruments of various makes. Special attention will be paid to the learning of tuning practices.
