Learning outcomes (list)

1.3 The student can take on a leading role in an ensemble.
The student reads figured (and unfigured) basses from literature (= real music).
The student can independently perform reductions and score playing in different styles and genres (e.g. string quartet, choir, orchestra, etc.).
The student can independently perform transpositions in different styles and genres (using repeated chord progressions - from chaconne to jazz standard).
The student can improvise independently in different styles using modes, chord progressions, motivic development, free from style clichés, free in combination with another discipline (dance, theatre).
The student can independently play a sonata together with a melody instrument, without having to write down the figuration
2.3 The student can process musical structures through analysis and interpretation.
The student plays prima vista in different styles, genres and notations (solo; accompanying singers in songs and arias, accompanying other instrumentalists, etc...).
The student can independently apply his acquired insight in music (historical) context to and combine it with skills such as prima vista playing, reduction, transposition and improvisation within the subject Advanced Musicianship Piano 2.
The student independently links the analytical skills to the subject content and skills within the subject Advanced Musicianship Piano 2.
The student independently applies the acquired skills and knowledge in his/her daily music practice and study.
The student deepens his/her knowledge and understanding of more complex forms and structures within the components prima vista, reduction, transposition and improvisation, with an emphasis on different genres and techniques.

Evaluation (text)

Assessment is based on several evaluation moments, which will be communicated in class and on Digitap at the beginning of the academic year. Participation in all evaluation moments is necessary to pass the entire course unit. If the student fails one or more partial exams, he/she will be referred to the second examination opportunity for at least this/these partial exam(s).
