Short description

Our world is changing faster than ever and global events are happening more often and have a bigger impact on society and economy than before. The current (business) environment has made it clear that things have to change on an economic, social and environmental level to ensure that future generations will be able to live a meaningful life. In the past, ensuring social and environmental stability was seen as the sole responsibility of the government and non-profit organisations as businesses had only one reason for existence: maximising shareholder value. However, due to the impact of businesses on the social and environmental issues, and the increased scope of these issues, governments can no longer deal with these problems by themselves. The responsibility has shifted towards the business and sustainable business management has become a hot topic on the agenda of both businesses and government.

In this course we introduce you to the current state of affairs concerning the economical, social and environmental challenges humanity is facing today and offer you an introduction to different possible solutions for these challenges.
