Learning outcomes (list)

Analyse
Analyzes the typical characteristics of different digital interfaces.
Performs an analysis on the synthesized hardware, regarding timing, efficiency and resource utilization;
Design
Identifies the hardware for DSP applications and explains how it works.
Explains usage, scope, specific language aspects, synthesis, Finite State Machine development, simulation with VHDL.
Explains timing aspects when designing digital systems.
Optimise
Test the developed system in accordance with the requirements and agreed standards
Improves the system and highlights the limitations to evaluate the system.
Realise
Builds a high-performance digital system on an FPGA using the IP blocks.
Explains the different hardware elements within an FPGA.
Documents the work for easy adoption in future use and other developers;
Builds a digital system on an FPGA using the additional hardware provided within the FPGA, such as Block RAM and timing infrastructure;
