Learning outcomes (list)

CONCEPT CHOICE
The student can analyze solution-oriented automation problems and change them into a software programme using binary logics, timers, counters, comparison instructions and mathematical instructions.
DESIGN
The student can combine PLC comparison and adaptation instructions, timers and counters into a functional system.
INSTALLATION
The student can understand the auto. functioning of equipment or processes using mode of operation, drawing a function chart and convert it to an agreed on and structured PLC prog., documenting this program, transfer to the PLC and test it.
The student is able to build up the hardware configuration in function of the requirements.
The student knows the possibilities and the use of the programming language (TIA) and can apply it.
The student can apply the correct wiring on the didactic panel based on a functional description.
The student understands the basic principles of a safety relay and can apply wiring to achieve the required safety function.
OPERATION
The student can execute the basic instructions and principles for programming of a PLC and can apply them in a practical way.
The student can set up and test communications between PLC and a programming device.
The student can enter the application exercise, with an imposed force, converted to a structured program, with the programming device and can add clear program documentation, then transfer to the PLC and test it for a proper functioning.
IMPROVING
The student is able, with automatically controlled systems, to act problem-solving and with the knowledge gained from the program instructions and make necessary modifications in the operating system.
The student can create, download and upload files to the PLC using the didactic panel and applicable software.
LIFELONG LEARNING
The student works in a professional manner on an industrial installation.
