Learning outcomes (list)

Is customer focused. The business professional acts in the interest of the customer;
The student make a distinction between rules of suppletive law, rules of compulsory law and rules of public policy
Understands law fields and aspects most relevant to the business world; he/she can resolve less complex practical problems within these fields.
Student classifies given rules of law in the right branch of law
The student categorises the different formal sources of law
The student outlines the organisation of the judicial power
Systematically makes use of professional business sources and critically interprets the derived information before acting upon it;
The student applies the legal rules regarding legal sources correctly when dissecting and assessing a legal question regarding legal sources.
Prepares, handles and follows up, independently or as part of a team, legal case/files within the confines of applicable regulations, procedures and guidelines within the para-legal profession.
The student categorises the different formal sources of law
The student gives an hierarchical overview of all legal rules in Belgium
Substantively supports the law professionals (bailiffs, notaries public, magistrates, barristers, solicitors,…)
The student classifies subjective rights in political, civil and social-economic/cultural rights
The student gets to know the meaning, the formation, operation and different basic principles of law
The student classifies institutions within the appropriate power (judicial, executive or legislative power)
