Learning outcomes (list)

Give specific advice and carry out expert assessments.
The student can indicate the consequences of the regulations concerning energy-efficiency in buildings
The student knows the regulations concerning energy-efficiency in buildings
Technical knowledge related to construction, materials recognition, construction physics, construction pathology, renovation and maintenance.
The student can define and describe the basic concepts and requirements related to heat transfer
The student can define and describe some basic concepts and requirements concerning moisture in buildings
The student is able to assess and suggest improvements to a building's shell concerning heat and moisture transport
The student can calculate the heat transfer through a building's shell
The student can calculate how vapor moves through parts of a construction (walls, roofs,…)
The student can list the main problems related to acoustics in buildings and formulate improvements.
The student can define and describe basic concepts and requirements related to acoustics.
Communicate well and clearly in a commercial manner (including reporting) with (potential) customers and the ability to express themselves in a professional context in different languages.
