Omschrijving Onderwijsorganisatie (tekst) (EN)

The lecture series Studium Generale aims to offer current, up-to-date documentation in the form of evening lectures by experts, also accessible to a wider audience. The series is therefore intended for both students, staff and externals.
Starting from a current topic within our contemporary society, connections between the study areas will be realized. The theme for Academic Year 2017-2018 ‘Trust’ will therefore be approached from different angles. This involves presentation and critical analysis of the topic. The lecture series aims to encourage participants to reflect on current issues facing all the study areas. The lectures are therefore aimed at interdisciplinarity and societal relevance.

The aim of the course is that students can enter from different programs. Students are expected to:
- have a general social and cultural frame of reference;
- have sufficient knowledge of their own field of study;
- be able to formulate in correct English.

Omschrijving Evaluatie (tekst) (EN)

De papers moeten minimum voldoen aan de volgende criteria:
· Lengte van de paper ligt rond de 2 500 woorden
· De tekst is opgesteld in correct Nederlands of Engels
· De student komt tot een eigen vraagstelling die verder uitgewerkt wordt vertrekkende vanuit de lezingen en onderbouwd met relevant bronmateriaal

1. Analyse van en persoonlijke/ kritische reflectie op een centrale vraagstelling.
Juiste duidelijke weergave van het besproken onderwerp
(Zelf)kritische, onderzoek gerichte houding
Heldere eigen bewering t.o.v. besproken onderwerp
Relevant en correct bronnengebruik
2. Betrokkenheid van de reflectie op het eigen studietraject:
Originele plaatsing van het eigen studietraject t.o.v. het besproken onderwerp
Heldere motivatie van de eigen professionele interesse m.b.t. het besproken onderwerp

The assignment consists of writing a paper of approximately 4000 words. The student gives a well-founded reflection on the lectures of his / her choice. The reflection is based on the lectures and the discussion afterwards and reflects the student's position, supported by relevant sources from various media. It is a personal, original text that uses references according to the required protocol. Fraud and plagiarism are punished by zero.

The paper is evaluated based on the following parameters:
1. Analysis of and personal / critical reflection on a central theme.
1. Correct use of relevant sources.
2. Clear structure and layout.
3. Use of correct and active language and smooth formulations.

The paper should be submitted via e-mail to the teacher in charge. The student will receive a confirmation.
The deadline for submission in the first semester is Wednesday, January 10th at 12:00. At the end of the year/ the second semester, the deadline is Tuesday, June 4th 2018 at 12:00.

There is a second exam period for Studium generale.
The deadline for submission in the second exam period is Monday, August 20th 2018 at 12:00.
