Learning outcomes (list)

The graduate applies profession-related laws and regulations on the construction site with explicit attention to safety and welfare, monitors compliance and takes appropriate action where necessary.
The student respectfully deals with all the measuring material according to the enforced safety prescriptions.
The graduate is responsible for measuring, staking out and checking building dimensions with the correct measuring instruments.
The student calculates the measurements for different expanding methods.
The student makes the necessary mathematical calculations regarding trigonometry to process and interpret the terrain data and surveying techniques.
The student processes measurement data locally or in an imposed reference system.
The student executes measurements (survey and plot) with a one-man station.
The student executes a well through and round leveling, processes this, assesses the accuracy with regard to a pre-enforced tolerance and settles the closing error in the obvious way.
The student minimalizes the error rate, keeping the known error sources in mind when measuring, and executes control measurements.
The student processes the measurement data into a clear report.
The student executes altimetric plotting.
The student sets up a theodolite and enters the orientation in the measuring menu of the instrument.
The student performs detailed measurements (planimetry and/or altimetry) with a theodolite.
The student applies simple measurement methods in the field, using simple topographical measurement equipment.
The student describes the various commonly used measuring techniques, specific to the site dimensions, with an eye for accuracy and sources of error.
The student reflects critically on his measurement results.
The student applies a suitable measuring technique in function of his assignment.
The student performs easy measurement and layout work by ranging out straight lines with ranging rods and the lowering of perpendiculars.
The student defines the instrumental errors of surveying instruments.
The student eliminates the instrumental errors of surveying instruments with the appropriate measurement techniques/methods.
The student recognizes the markings.
The student carries out layout work related to the layout of a house and/or road route.
The student executes a trigonometric altimetry and processes this in a useful way.
The graduate acts on the basis of a solid general construction knowledge.
The student explains the anatomy, the general functioning and the use of the surveying instruments.
The student explains the surveying basic measurement techniques with their field of application.
The student names the basic concepts of topography.
The student uses correct technical jargon when using measuring instruments.
