Course content

In the first semester, you will conduct an in-depth visual and material exploration focusing on colour, texture, image, and form, starting from your own individual themes. You will collect, analyse, and develop a variety of visual material based on three distinctly different and fashion-relevant mood boards. This material serves as the starting point for the creation of two innovative and personal colour charts, which you will further develop in Digital Imaging 1. You will experiment with colour composition and material associations, and learn to present them in a distinctive and visually powerful way.

In the second semester, the focus shifts to developing your first personal collection of eight silhouettes, based on a self-chosen concept. In addition to design and form, you will independently research materials and techniques. You will not only select existing fabrics and swatches but also create your own material experiments, print designs, and manipulations that align with your concept. This design development culminates in an individual trend book, in which innovative colour compositions, textile and material developments, prints, and a fully developed silhouette series come together. You will create this trend book in Digital Imaging 1.
