Prerequisites

(previously registered for Block printing 1 AND previously registered for Intaglio 1 AND previously registered for Lithography 1 AND previously registered for Silkscreen 1) OR previously registered for Studio Printmaking 1.

Learning outcomes (list)

BA1 - The student has the necessary artistic skills to design and/or realize a personal project within the broad spectrum of the visual arts under supervision.
The student can merge image and text within the manual printing process.
BA2 - The student has the necessary knowledge, skills and insights regarding material, form, action, concepts, function and contents of the chosen medi
The student can merge image and text within the manual printing process.
The student can produce a lithography in color (camallieu, multiclichédruk) and experiment with printing techniques.
The student can make a wood engraving at beginners' level and illustrate a text.
The student can print at an advanced level with a relief-printing press and a manual counter press.
BA7 - The student is able to organize his/her artistic project in consultation with others.
The student can work out a personal artistic project in a systematic way.

Course content

On the basis of a number of technical assignments, students are introduced to colour printing, illustrations to existing texts, experimental relief printing. These skills are not only performed but also examined and incorporated. In addition, the student is expected to carry out further research within his personal artistic world and language. The personal artistic component gains in importance.
