Course content

The sketchbook remains an important element also in Ba2. The student engages in an active and creative way in recording his thoughts, designs, sketches. The student begins to develop his own visual language by looking with an open mind and trying to understand. Drawing remains essential.
All assignments start from a personal bank of images. Burin engraving remains because of the specific visual language of an engraving. The application in intaglio is for the sake of emphasizing this specific line, in combination with the other etching techniques.
If there is ambition for an exclusively specific engraving then this is of course still possible.

At the beginning of the academic year the student will receive all assignment descriptions.
If the student does not complete these properly, study progress may be jeopardized. The student deepens his research in the more complex technical skills of intaglio. Also here the artistic part of his education will gain importance. A personal point of view is being stimulated.
