2.3 The student can process musical structures through analysis and interpretation.
The student develops various systems of analysis and applies them to music from the 20th century and to contemporary music.
The student can independently implement knowledge and analysis on 20th century music and new music together with research and artistic competences for the Master's exam.
4.1 The student has extensive knowledge of the broader cultural and (musical) historical context and can use this in his or her artistic practice.
The student can implement obtained insight in musical (historical) context and combine it with skills and knowledge obtained in the Analysis course, with a special focus on 20th century and new music.
4.2 The student possesses the correct tools to carry out research.

Course content

Crucial to the course is the search for deeper connections and a correct understanding of the notated music; in this way, tools are provided that can lead to a meaningful interpretation and appreciation of a score.
