Learning outcomes (list)
The associate reads and interprets electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerological as well as simple P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) schemes and drawings and consults technical information, also in at least one foreign language.
| The student explains and sums up the main components of an industrial cooling circuit based on their specific technical properties and their maintenance regulations. |
The associate works in a socially responsible, sustainable and qualitative way and applies safety guidelines and regulations in the domain of HVAC systems.
| The student performs direct and indirect leakage tests according to prescribed regulations. |
| The student professionally works on an industrial refrigeration installation. |
The associate advises and informs users, and proposes improvements regarding use and function.
| The student explains the difference (pressure-enthalpy diagram) between direct/indirect expansion systems and between natural and pump circulation systems. |
| The student asseses the good functioning of a cooling installation, focussing on the realisation of the energie gain (least energy use = less CO2 equivalent). |
The associate reports his activities efficiently to colleagues and superiors with an eye to the follow-up.

The associate performs - independently and under supervision - the installation, activation and adjustment of climatisation systems in the domain of HVAC systems in a residential and non-residential context.

The associate takes into account specific risks of dangerous products and circumstances inherent to the field of climatisation and acts accordingly.
| The student performs certification-required work activities, such as repairs to the refrigerant circuit, (re)filling or draining refrigerant, installing components, checking system tightness, hard soldering/brazing, setting/parameterising the installation as a fully functioning unit, and checking the set safety mechanisms. |
