Short description
In this expert class, we take a step further into the world of 2D production during the lectures and exercises where we delve further both technically and creatively into advanced use of several tools and animation disciplines.
To follow this course smoothly, a good prior knowledge of After Effects software is required.
Course content
The following topics will be covered:
- Production-technical analysis of common 2D animation styles
- Production of different 2D animation styles
- Adequate application of 2D for communicative or commercial purposes
- Lip-sync in character animation
- Creating and editing your own audio recordings for animations

In this course, you will combine animation, storytelling and design into visually sophisticated title designs and character animations. You will work with various techniques such as stop-motion, frame-by-frame and digital collages, and develop concepts that match brand identities and commercial contexts. You will learn how to use humour, rhythm and tone in animation, and how to design characters based on archetypes and style guidelines. You will bring your animations to life through rigging, lip-sync and sound mixing. You will present your work professionally and substantiate your choices with reflection and analysis.
In these lessons, we will use Adobe After Effects, Adobe Character Animator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere and Storyboarder.
A good prior knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop is required to be able to follow this course.
