Short description

Sound and Vision is an experimental, small-scale project of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, bringing together students from various performing and visual arts disciplines. In small, autonomous teams, you will develop an interdisciplinary audiovisual project under supervision. You will be challenged to step outside your familiar context, brainstorm together and arrive at a joint concept that respects everyone's artistic input. The process stimulates exploration, collaboration and innovation, and results in a presentation that offers fresh artistic inspiration.

Course content

Sound and Vision is a joint project of the Royal Academy and the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. What you create depends largely on your background and interests and those of your fellow students, so each edition is unique. You will work in small, multidisciplinary teams with students from the dance, drama, jazz and classical music programmes. Together, you will come up with a performative, audiovisual project that you will actually realise. After an initial meeting with the group and the teachers, you will start brainstorming. You will quickly work towards a feasible project proposal that everyone can identify with and is fully committed to. We will meet regularly to further develop and refine your ideas. The result? A public presentation in March or April, just before the Easter holidays.
