Learning outcomes (list)

1. Basic measurements & testing – Electrical: I perform basic electrical measurements and tests to ensure the proper functioning of an HVAC system.
I explain the purpose and operation of starting methods for an asynchronous motor.
I explain the function of safety measures in an electrical installation.
I explain the properties of fuses, circuit breakers, power switches, and residual-current devices.
I describe the properties of a frequency converter.
I distinguish between different network systems (TT, IT, TN) using a diagram.
I describe the construction of an LV-cable based on its naming.
I justify the choice of a type of switch in an electrical installation.
I describe the construction of an asynchronous motor.
I carry out basic measurements on asynchronous motors.
I identify the main external influences on electrical materials.
3. Read & interpret information: I read and interpret technical information and manuals in Dutch and English, including electrical, process, and instrumentation diagrams.
I explain the operation of circuits with electric motors.
I determine the necessary setting of an electrical protection device.
5. Perform work in accordance with safety regulations/procedures: I perform high-quality HVAC tasks, utilizing the applicable safety provisions and procedures.
I identify the degree of protection of electrical components.
10. Independently assemble installations: I independently assemble air conditioning systems based on detailed instructions.
I connect a frequency converter and enter the basic parameters.
I connect an asynchronous motor.
I declare the choice of a specific protection component in an electrical installation.
I repair and diagnose faults in air conditioning systems.
I analyse simple circuits with diodes.
