Learning outcomes (list)

BA1 - The student has the necessary artistic skills to design and/or realize a personal project within the broad spectrum of the visual arts under supervision.
The student knows and understands the structure of the realization process and underlying principles at beginners level.
BA2 - The student has the necessary knowledge, skills and insights regarding material, form, action, concepts, function and contents of the chosen medi
The student knows and understands the basic techniques of goldsmithing at beginners level.
The student knows and masters the properties and processing possibilities of various metals and materials at beginners level.
The student masters technical and practical skills at beginners level.

Course content

Basic gold-and silversmithing techniques such as measuring and marking, sawing, drilling, grinding and polishing, filing, alloying, casting, wire drawing, rolling, forging, wire/plate forming, soldering, surface treatment and other necessary techniques for the realisation of the BA1 design assignments

'For technical assignments, it is required that the work be completed at school under the guidance and supervision of the responsible tutor teaching the assignment, so that the process is visible and progress can be monitored. Should this requirement not be met, the tutor and therefore the jury, cannot provide a positive evaluation.
