Course content

Course Content 1

  • Further development of skills in independently constructing ceramic works.
  • Advanced understanding of drying and firing processes and the influence of time on ceramic production.
  • Investigation of the relationship between material behaviour, construction, and technical execution.
  • Development of control over the interaction between ceramic forms and their environment.

Course Content 2

  • Investigation of the relationship between content, form, action, and material within ceramic practice.
  • Experimentation with form, structure, surface treatment, and texture in relation to artistic intentions.
  • Development of a repetitive and research-oriented working process within ceramic practice.
  • Application of technical knowledge within more personal and artistically grounded projects.

Course Content 3

  • Reflection on the making process, the development of work, and its presentation.
  • Analysis of methods and representations used by fellow students and artists as sources for artistic research.
  • Investigation of the relationship between process, outcome, and meaning within ceramic sculpture.
  • Development of an exploratory and reflective attitude in support of a personal visual language.
