Course content

Course Content 1

Development of an Autonomous Artistic Trajectory

Development of an autonomous sculptural practice based on a personal artistic inquiry, visual language, and research process.
Investigation of the relationship between material choice, material use, scale, construction, and artistic intention within the student’s own work.
Further development of personal artistic strategies through experimentation, reflection, and independent research.
Integration of acquired technical, conceptual, and visual skills within a coherent artistic trajectory.
Development of an independent artistic attitude with attention to process, presentation, and the status of the materialised artwork.

Course Content 2

Presentation and Contextualisation of the Work

Investigation of different ways of presenting sculptural work within various contexts such as exhibitions, studio visits, and evaluation moments.
Experimentation with installation, scale, spatiality, documentation, and presentation formats in relation to the meaning of the work.
Analysis of the relationship between artwork, space, audience, and context.
Development of insight into how presentation and contextualisation influence the interpretation and functioning of sculptural work.
Compilation of portfolios, artist books, documentation, or presentation material in support of the artistic practice.

Critical Reflection and Articulation

Critical reflection on the individual working process, artistic choices, and the development of a personal visual language.
Discussion and analysis of personal work and that of fellow students during feedback sessions, group discussions, and studio visits.
Exercises focused on formulating, contextualising, and defending artistic intentions and visual decisions.
Development of an analytical and communicative attitude within artistic dialogue and reflection.
Articulation and positioning of personal work through presentations, artist statements, portfolios, and evaluation moments.
