Short description

For students by students

You not only attend courses but also help to design them. You take an active role in the Student Council and, in doing so, make a personal commitment to your fellow students and the Academy. After all, art education develops in dialogue between students and teachers.

With INPUT/IMPACT you contribute to building a participatory, inclusive culture where every student may feel welcome and helps to shape attractive and relevant education in the Academy.

Course content

You commit to active participation in the structured consultation of the Student Council. As a member of the Student Council, you represent the interests of your fellow students in a responsible and engaged manner and contribute at a policy level to the development of contemporary and relevant art education within a society and world undergoing constant change.

From this commitment, you maintain an ongoing awareness of the needs, questions, and suggestions that emerge within the studio and the programme. You take on a connecting role by feeding back relevant information about decisions and ongoing processes to the student community and by communicating this information in an accessible and transparent way.

In addition, in consultation with the Student Council, you commit to a number of supplementary activities that contribute to the social and cultural life of the Academy. These may include acting as an ambassador for the Academy during Open House, as well as co organising and facilitating cultural initiatives such as social activities, events, exhibitions, collaborative projects, student publications, or Every Two Weeks.

The Student Council is the official and democratically elected representative body of the students of the Academy and maintains structured communication and consultation channels with all studios, programmes, and internal consultation forums. Its members commit to actively fulfilling this role and may also represent the Academy in institution wide student consultation at the level of the university college.

1. Mid-term reflection and discussion based on own analysis and peer feedback.
2. Journal with brief description of your activities and a concluding self-assessment. You frame these with respect to the main ambition, in particular contributing to a participatory, inclusive culture & to shaping attractive and relevant art education. You also indicate how you relate to the learning objectives.
