Short description

Students develop their theatrical imagination, stage work and dramaturgical awareness through performative exercises, more text-based improvisation or working with scenes, and an introduction to dramaturgical thinking within the performing arts.

Course content

Students deepen their performative skills by further developing their theatrical imagination, state work and dramaturgical awareness. In a practice-oriented programme, students explore how inner states, emotional accessibility, language and performativity can be translated into theatrical composition and performative presence in time and space.

Through improvisation, textual material and performative studies, students work on developing their own performative imagination without losing their physical grounding in the body. In doing so, the focus shifts from skills training to performative composition, intentional speech, dramaturgical choices and theatrical translation.

In parallel, students are introduced to the basic principles of dramaturgy within the performing arts. They develop an initial vocabulary to analyse, discuss and contextualise artistic choices, dramaturgical structures and performative processes.
